First of all, welcome to the forums.
Oscars sometimes take a little time to settle in and can sometimes take quite a day or two to settle in. However, five days is quite a long time, from my experience, they are more interested in food than anything else. You really do need to test the water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH. When fish start acting differently, it can sometimes be due to the conditions they are living in. Take a good look at the fish, is it breathing okay, or is it breathing heavily, i.e. opening and closing its mouth a lot?
Like I said, you have got to test the water. Without knowing what is going on with the water, it is virtually impossible to even start thinking about what might be causing this behaviour.
Your description of this Whitecraigs does rather sound like the beginning of a fungal infection. Go to your fish store and asked them for a fungal remedy. Try to go for a brand name if you can. Alternatively, give your veterinarian a ring and ask his advice.
Hope this helps
