I am so going to run into a slight prob not a major prob, The navy in its infinate wisdom is going to send me to a post school training for two weeks which is not a major prob but makes me upset cause my boys are going to be chked on for the next two weeks and kinda on their own since my buddy can be over every night but every other day or couple of days and will do my tank cleaning while im gone on the weekends for me. my delima is going to hit when i leave again next year for another school for 13 weeks and then well after all that i go to that great fun filled sand box. so here is my prob i dont have a place to take my 75 gal tank to someones house cause well none have room for them so what would you guys suggest cause giving them up is really really not an option unless its do or die situation, so any thoughts on how i can keep them running other than a 7 day feeder and light timers is all i got going right now and i showed my buddy how to clean and fill the tanks but asking him to do that for over a year is a lot to ask.

If I was face with that i would rehome and consider replacing them another time when life gives more time. Main reasons, passing your hobby on to someone else isnt going to give them the attention they need, any small problems could end being big ones as no one would be around to notice. i used to have a very large koi pond when I was much younger. it was at my mums house and i was leaving home. some of the fish where over 24" so worth a fair amount of cash, in total 12 very nice fish. mum and brother said they would care for them, so I let them only to receive a phone call to say they had all died cos the filter stopped. no one notice. its a very hard choice to make but the fish should come 1st. that said how keen is your buddie on taking care of them?

well the next time i go everything will be fine and the second time when i ship over seas i can break down my tanks and store them since my buddy who runs 110 125 220 75 90 gal tanks and is building a 1600 gal tank he is going to home them while im over seas so i wont need to worry only snag now is my 55 live planted tank but i think im going to bribe my friend to take it while im gone so i wont have to worry about it and just pull the fish out and just keep the plants maybe we will see so all that worry for naught and my buddy who is keeping an eye on them is going to stay here so him and his gf can have private time

I went travelling for 3 months. I closed 2 tanks down and my friend thankfully maintained the 3rd. I did a deal with another friend, she could help herself to some of the fish i was going to take back to the shop on condition she looked after my frontosa in her tank. Everyones a winner, i knew my frontosa was well looked after which i got back, and she got 3 full sized hoplo cats. Why not suggest something simialr to your friend

well it seems that everything has fallen into place only thing is im going ot have to move my 55 gal tank from my home to my friends home which is full of my live plants, but its all good i got lucky that her old roommate moved out which made space for my tank which oddly enough was hers before she moved lol but my lizard is also going there too so its going to be all good now except to move into storage and break down my 75 gal tank. once everything takes place.
