Hi Guys,
My oscar tank is developing green algae on the gravel, [not in a huge amount, but slowly creaping all over] I keep the tank glass cleen but the gravel is still turning green, the perameters are all fine, should I just suction out the green gravel and gradually replace it, or should I do something else?
thamks for any help.

you can just clean it .....but its ocuring from too much light ..i recomend you only use your tube lighting from 6:00pm till 11:30pm this will stop it

X2, don't wast it, clean it. and turn lights on when you are at home looking at them.

Had the same problem with my dwarf-puffer tank, and I just vaccuumed the upper layer of the gravel out of the tank, rinced it in the old water and put it back.
The whole tank became messy and I accidentally sucked up my lil'puffer......
But he survived alright.
Next time i'll be more carefull and i'm gonna put a clock on the light to reduce hours!

Rather than clean the gravel just turn it over. Algae dies without light. This also works if you get gravel on rocks- just turn them over if they get green.
