ok after a spendign alot of time gettin my water levels finaly all med to low. two oscars are acting totaly different which i hopes for the best. they always come over to me now when i go to see how they are. when its due for feeding time they always come to the top and the biggest one now decided to pop halfway out of the water to get the food from me. the smaller one waits for me to put it some in. after feeding they square up to each other and open there moths and jerk towards each other as if there going to ' lip lock' but never do they do this about 5 times befor the big one makes its 'evis lip'. i say elvis lip beacause it opens its mouth then curls one side which id=s funny to watch

they have moved the rock to the corner of the tank and burried it in the gravel they have been moving from the centre of tank. which has left the bottom of the tank visible.everytime i level the gravel back out they move it again.

any ideas what they are doing. ive heard this is what the do befor laying eggs.
if it helps they both stay near the clearing they made at the bottom of the tank and only move to come see me if i go over

This would be normal behaviour for a breeding pair of Oscars. However, I've seen Oscars doing this a long time before any eggs came along. How old are your Oscars? I shouldn't get too excited at the moment, I think a lot of this behaviour is instinct and Oscars will do it whether they are going to breed or not.

i was told by fish stoe they where about 2 year old if thats true or not i dnt know. so looks like i have a male and female

its possible you have a pair which may be getting ready to spawn if i were you i would add a flat stone or a piece of slate for them to spawn on

i smashed a vase the other day and a big bit came off lol aciently on pupose haha. so ive put that in the tanks after i gave it a good wash in the tankl water i removed befor cleaning
