i have two tiger oscars and two plecos in a 75 gallon tank
i recently bought the second pleco and got ich in my tank right after.
i chose to go ahead with the salt and heat to treat it and im on my third day and it is all gone so far fom what i can see. im doing water changes every 3 dys of 20% untill im done treating the tank for ich and i dropped the water level two inches and added 1 teaspoon of salt per 5 gallons and have had the the water temp at 89 degrees Fahrenheit for the past three days tomorrow on the forth day i will be dropping it down to 86 and keeping it there for next 11 days with salt still. so now that i took care of that problem i have encontered a new one. both oscars were purchesed at same time and on is 4 inchs and other is 3 ichs maybe and i dont understand why one is growing faster than other? but this morning when i awoke i noticed two ball point pen size holes maybe little bigger above the eyes of the larger oscar that wernt there last night. the holes are clean no blood or goo coming out from them should i now worry it has hole in head? or do you think it is an injury from over night? can hole in head just come over niht? both oscars still eat and act normal just worried about holes now could the ich have brought this on?
the plecos are 2.5 inchs and other is 4 inches.
water has always been tested once a week after weekly water changes of 25% and everything reads normal? i dont get it? this one little pleco ruined my life hahaha :angry:
can you please give me your advice on what you think? it would be a big help and hopfully calm my nerves thanks

I'm afraid I'm not a great lover of salt in aquariums. Some people like using it, other people don't bother.

We are really going to need to see a photograph of your fish. Like I've said to many people on many occasions, if you ring the doctor up complaining that you have got a rash on your arm, he will want to see it, he can't possibly diagnose it over the phone, the same goes here, we need to see what you are talking about.

It could well be an injury that occurred during the night, this is very very common.

I must say that at some stage you will be grossly overstocked. I would advise you to re-homed some of the fish because once they get bigger, you will have water quality problems.

i have a 125 tank sitting in my garage but do not want to set it up yet because theres no room for a 6 foot tank in my living oom right now but i will soon set i up maybe within the next 3 months maybe in the garage do you think that is ok or should i just try to maybe set it up as soon as possable?

so i dont no why but it wont let me up load the photos? it says its to big of a file size or has to be a certain format?

Yes, I can sort of see them, but not very clearly. Did these appear overnight? If they did, the chances are they are just injuries caused by the Oscar bashing into something. It is very difficult to tell from your photo so I wouldn't really like to say for sure that it is hole in the head. I would suggest that you monitor the wounds for the next two or three days, if they are just abrasions then they will start healing up relatively quickly.

if it is hole in head how can i tell is there something i should start looking for after 2 or three days? blood or and other thing coming from the holes? an yes it happened over night!! i woke up and they were there.
you said you wernt a fan of salt should i stop with the salt for the ich and just keep tmp at 86?
also one las thing will the 125 be ok with my two plecos and two oscar and how long before you think i would have to move them..right now there all small i think in one of the pictures i took you can see the two plecos together next to the one oscar there i believe 2.5 inch small one and big one is 4inchs oscars are 2.5 maybe three and big one is maybe 4.5

the 125 gal gallon will be fine for your fish but the 75 should be fine for a few months also. and you don't really have to stop the salt but i found it dosent really do anything
