I think he'll love them as a snack!
I know some other people on OFL feed them to their O's!
I think it's a fancy snack!

i am not sure what a cherry shrimp is but if they are fresh
or fresh frozen... yeah, by all means you can feed them to your
o. i used to give my fishes fresh water shrimp on regular basis
as alternate for beef heart, pellets, and worms.

yea should be just fine albeit pricey food for them. oscar wont care how deep you dig in your wallet to keep his belly full! ive been giving my pieces of cut shrimp lately. he seems to enjoy it.

not really Win... those fresh water shrimps are the cheapest oscar
foods you can get in my place..... one kilograms will cost you about
US$1.00 and that is good enough for 5 days feedings for my 5 oscars.

wow must be nice, glass shrimp sell for 26 cents a piece for a 3/4" long, just about all the rest of them are 2-3 dollars at least per for live, and frozen stuff at the supermarket is like 7 dollars a pound or better, and thats the saltwater kind they catch in bulk. freshwater shrimp are pretty dang expensive in texas.

ha ha ha... now, at least i have one advantage over you guys & gals...
yes, fresh water shrimps here are also expensive with size ranges from
12 to 15 pcs per kilograms (2.214 lbs)at US$3/lbs but the fingerlings
(1.5 to 2 inches long) they are used as animal feeds or salted shrimp
paste.

i had bought a couple 3" long bamboo shrimp thinking they would be benificial to help keep the tank clean.. i think i paid 7 dollars each for them or so... and the oscar ate one pouring it from the bag and by the next morning the other was gone. and the oscars werent half as big as they are now, im thinking 5-6" at most at that time. i was thinking they would be big enough to get away or atleast hide. lol i was wrong. oscars really love their shellfish.

i totally agree with you Win.... i had this experiment giving
my oscars 3 different foods at one setting; beefheart, fresh shrimp,
and hikari pellets. the oscar did not mind the two but shrimp are all
gone in few seconds.... and keep on wiggling tail unmindful of the
other foods. and mind you... these oscars know how to peel the shrimps.
when they grab the whole shrimps, they spit out the empty head shell...

lol i would hope so, most shrimp have a very very sharp spine coming off the front of the head. i would bet that would be difficult to swallow
