I thought I would keep all of you updated on the condition of my Oscar that has been suffering from HITH. I mentioned that I was considering moving my Oscar into a hospital tank because my pleco was starting to act strange and I was getting concerned. I ended up setting up a 20 gallon hospital tank and moving my oscar there.
My poor oscar didn't even struggle with the transfer. I have a bucket that I use only for my fish tank, it is able to fit into my tank. So, I put the bucket into the tank and was able to slowly nudge my oscar into the bucket and transfer her to the hospital tank. That was five days ago and I must say that it is much easier caring for her in the 20 gallon.
This morning I was very excited to see her swimming around slowly. For the past two weeks, all she has been able to do is lay at the bottom of the tank struggling for air. She still has quite a ways to go (she still is not eating), but my spirits were lifted seeing her moving around again.
Thanks everyone for all the information you have provided to me and I will keep you updated. Later today I will take a picture of her and add it to the post so that you can see her.
Thanks again,
Jierna
