love the new sight layout.

I ran by the pet store today for some hith treatment (spot on nostril still hasn't gone away)

Anyway they had some little baby o's, (hard to imagine my beast was ever that small) problem was that one was just horribly ate up with hith and another was so beaten up from his tank mates he was missing a lateral fin and half his side was torn up. soo, sad, i pointed him out out to the employee and that there was an open tank and she moved him over but i couldn't believe they hadn't caught it sooner. i wonder if his fin will grow back... wanted to take him home home and take care of him

neglect and less concern on fishes are very common to small LFS.
most of the time, attendants are not equipped with fish care
information.

if the base of the fin remains intact, yes, it may recover with
proper care and pristine water. considering the attendant having
hard time to catch it, damage is not that much. agility is still
high and strong body. if you can get it for free, go ahead but if
not, why pay for a damage fish if you can get a healthy one. telling
the store that what they are doing is not right is good enough.

sorry, i meant i couldn't believe they didn't realize what condition he was in sooner, not that she had a hard time catching the actual fish, he was just hiding in the corner. he did have a stub if a fin. i thought about asking to take him off their hands to take care of but have no place for him, just my one tank with oliver, who would probably do more harm!

got your point.... poor little fish.... yes...if you do not have ample
for it, that would not be practical....

yeah i see that often but surprisingly at aquarium stores most of the oscars that are housed together look like they have been beaten and at a small general pet stores they look really good and healthy...maybe cause there are not like 20 crammed into one lil tank...
