Hi all
Just a thought, i was watching a video of a black tiger oscar on youtube and it had great orange colors on it. It was black and silver like mine but with orange on it, it was allot bigger than mine as mine is only around 3 months old bout 4 half inches, will the colors show up as it gets older or stay black and silver?
cheers

I've seen most oscars lose their vibrant colour when they get older.
The pattern usually shows from young age on.
My O has no tailspot, and I was waiting for it to show, but it didn't!

Iv'e seen plenty of black tigers that at about 5-6" only have gold/orange running from there belly's up to the lateral line, and the top half stays black/striped without gold or orange like my one here
the only way to make shure an adult Oscar will be well coloured all over is to find a well coloured adult that you like.
But then you need a descent sized tank to put it straight into cause there wont be time for growing up!
