iv recently noticed the tinfoil barbs in my tank eatin the crap of the oscar i have . im keeping them well fead but they still seem to do it , even scrambling to get at it as oscars having a crap. is this normal ?

tinfoil Barbs. These things will eat anything you give them and grow to about 12 inches long. I did have a couple but got rid of them, they produce too much waste and eat too much food

should of asked you before i got them. didnt realise they grew so big , nobody ever tells u these things when your buyin something

If aquatic centres are selling fish that have the potential to reach a size where tanks size is an issue, they should make it quite clear how big fish do get, but unfortunately they don't, you have to look very carefully at the description label on the front of the tank, a lot of the time it does tell you on here but it's very small writing.

Oscar are quite bad at digesting food and so their poo is still quite nutritious so dont be surprised if other fish eat it. I used to have a parrot fish and it used to eat the oscars poo(yuk)

Yeah, tinfoils get big, and need(well, prefer) to live in schools of 5 or more. I wish something would eat my plecos crap:laugh:
