my BlackStripe is changing color, from the ordinary white (but not lutino)
to pinkish color.... see the difference.... which make me believe he
has a red oscar bloodline. What do you think please?????

Seen some strange colourchanges in Koi, but Oscars go to the extremes as well!

ive had goldfish go from being gold to white, and the other way around.

have you been feeding alot of shrimp?

that is a drastic change in black stripe's colour paul. if you havent changed his diet i am at a loss for why. but i am going to do some research and find try to find out why this might have happened.

hi every body, sorry for late inter action...played pool and lost but i enjoy
the six pack bucket (price of 6 beers for 4 bottles only).

no changes in food regiment and water change. the only variance is that
i put him back to the original tank with OneEyeJack since OEJ is being bullied
by Glutton... damaging the side without eye.

Noddy, i know nobody could ever switch my fishes...all markings are there.

Win, yeah, i know, flaming hot hot oil is very tempting.... he is a lot of
oscar fillet... and he should taste good...
no kidding aside, we used to eat my produce.... remember, i started keeping
oscar as an alternative for backyard food production program.....

Cris, even the breeder in my place is at lost..... could not figure out..
especially when he knew that my lutino is his offspring....but we both comes to
believe he is basically a red... but do not produce pigmentation earlier....

i have tried to take a picture with other oscar... thinking that my camera
is deffective... but they come out normal.... i just thought there is something
wrong with my vision...

is he outside??? is it possible it has a sun burn???

bot my tank had a lot of sun light the whole day....what i remember is that,
when i transfer him to his original tank, he had a lot of bleeding in the
mouth and gills, and had some scrape in the body the whole side.....
and he had a lot of slime when i measure and weight him again: 13 inches
and 1.50 kgs. from then, he slowly change the shade of color

i have seen catfish with sunburn before. only reason i asked.

btw, we used to catch catfish in a swamp that is about to dries up...
i haven't notice any sunburn then with the catfish... but they taste murky...
thus we used to put them in a bucket to cleans their stomach and
improved the taste....

What do you feed him, hikari cichlid gold is supposed to improve colour (I think it has shrimp in it). Maybe feeding this food could be the cause of the colour change. It could of been a delayed reaction.
