I was looking at my Oscar at one year and 10" now and was wondering how long it takes for an Oscar to reach his full grown adult size.
I understand there may be some diffence, but since a lot of you allready have grown adult, please tell me how long did your O take, for reaching his full grown size?
The lenght growthrate of my O seems to have slowed down, and now he's getting fatter!

i believe upon reaching 12 inches mark.
when i lost my LadyGreyBelly, she measured 14 inches long, 6 inches body wide
and almost 3 inches body thickness. now my BlackStripe is almost of the same
size at 28 months old. however, there is a sudden changes in his coloring that
makes me realized he is a red oscar...

So they keep growing for say 2-2,5 years?
I still think it's strange the way your Blackstripe changed colour after such a long time!

apparently, they keep growing in a slow pace after reaching 12 inches
mark. the growth is sidewise, not lenghtwise

my BlackStripe started the change when he got bloody mouth when
i switched the tank. OneEyeJack got beaten by Glutton, thus, i
decided to switched their tank for the nth time. from then i
noticed the gradual changes in color.

i liked the white, though, never seen one like that.

he is becoming more of red. yeah, i like the look of white
but not an albino..... and to think that Survivor, the offspring
is a lutino make me wonder further.... the breeder here could not
explain the changes either....

most of the nearby lfs could not believe it is an oscar...but when
they saw the spot on the tail, and the feature of the body...
they were surprised it is indeed a white oscar but not an albino.
sometimes, they ask me if i dyed the fish??
