You might be able to obtain one by asking your local aquatic centre to order you one from their suppliers.Otherwise it would be a case of hoping you come across one somewhere.

As for the price, probably quite expensive if you bought one as an adult, I would imagine a little dearer than your average oscar that you find in the store, but don't hold me to that.

I personally dont like the look. If you want one why not ask a shop to get you one. Be wary
of keeping them with normal oscars as the fins might get nipped
I can't get no sleep

I paid 40 dollars for mine and he is 7 inches long with very long fins, when they are young they are around 20. Petsmart here in Louisville, KY has them now.

Your right I hadn't thought of that, past oscars I've had were pretty mean to each other but I really want one though. I'm going to ask if they can order one for me and how much it'll cost. If I do decide to get it I'll just keep him with other non-oscar tank mates.

Thanks for the help =D

oh btw Cricket do you keep you longed finned oscar by himself?

i have a veil tail that i keep with in a 220 with a gt jag(juvie) salvini severum and onother oscar. on occasion he gets rips in his tail but not that often. he been in ther with the rest of the fish for his whole life now about 10 months and no real problems as of yet. but you should always have a back up plan ready in case problems arise.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

But thats gonna be a mess with my Pseudacanthicus-pleco.
When I introduced him into my Goldfish/Carp tank ALL fins of ALL fish where totally ripped to shreds by the thorns on his body.
Took some time for the fish to find out that they better stay out of his reach!

I prefer that intimidating look on an Oscar...
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
