I bought 36 meal worms to try something new but my oscars show no interest in them they just sunk to the bottom and the oscars stayed at the top waiting for food. Should I keep trying or just give up? What are some benefits of meal worms?

36 mealworms, who counted those out? I buy a carton which contains few hundred for £2.50. My Oscars absolutely love them. They are very good, proteins and nutrients, what more can you ask for? Even when they hatch, you get little black beetles which you can feed to your Oscar's as well.

However, if your Oscar's don't like them, there's not much you can do about it. There's plenty of other live food around, try them on something else

If you want them to start eating mealworms then dont feed them for 3 days or so. If that dont work leave it longer. Oscar go 2 weeks without food. You got to starve them into submission, eventually they will eat them out of hunger. If you are only feeding them one sort of food then you really need to get them eating a variety of foods. Earthworms are good, as well as prawns and maggots are great

They actually started eating them. They don't right away but after they hit the bottom they go and investigate then devour them.
