I feed my oscar some feeders and one got away and went to the bottom. well my oscar chased him down sucked him up and I think he got some rocks first cause he held it in his mouth for awhile. I noticed since last night that hes twitching alot pointing towards the ground like he's trying to cough something up, twitch, twitch then strech his mouth. scooping rocks in his mouth and spiting them out, flaring his gills. It's been well over fourteen or fifteen hours and he's still doing it. Should I be concerned?

The gravel-clean-and-move-routine is pretty normal Oscar behaviour.
They love to rearange the gravel and sift out foodbits at the same time.
Clearing it's gill is normal too, but I don't know about the twitching...
Is your yank cycled properly?

I change twice a week at 25%, because of the size of my tank 55gal, i did a level check and all was good. I use a Fluval filter 205 with a flow rate of 110gph and I have a side flowing filter as wellHad him for almost a year now he's bout a 10 inch long so for his size I change twice a week. I just noticed him doing this last night nothing else outta the ordinary though, just looks like he wants to cough something up like a hairball to a cat..but twitching like if you lightly rub your tongue on the roof of your mouth.

( wierd way to describe I know )

Yea It could be just me, I'm a first time owner and didn't really read up about there behaviours or what to expect until I searched the internet. Awsome site guys, very informative and in-depth. I'll post some pics to show off my buddy.
