i had an oscar fish . he was really samrt and could easily recognize me. unfortunetly he died from one of my south american chichlid this morning. i then fished him and the south american cichlid out. i bought another oscar . he seems not excited as the other one. whenever i give him food , he sits at the bottom of the tank. what can i do to get him a little excited, and get him off the bottom of the tank. my ph level is fine . the ammonia level is good to. what should i do?

Bent is right, if you just got him today he's sitting still getting a feel for his new home and pouting.
If you can't beat them...arrange to have them beaten!

This is normal. Your oscar will soon get used to his new tank and start buzzing around the tank and begging for food

Are there any other fish in the tank. Did you remove the south american cichlid on the same day as adding your new oscar. The situation you dont want to of happened is the tank to be empty of fish for a day or so. If this happened then the good bacteria in your filter would of died off and you will need to recycle.
