I just finished doing water changes on my tanks. When I started to get the things ready to do the oscar tank, my boys (at least I like to think they are) came to the front of the tank like it was feeding time again already today...so I put the vaccum in and started the siphon. A couple of seconds later, Helios the red came up to the vaccum and started flaring his gills and acting like he was going to attack the thing. lol I found that extremely funny because he is so tiny and the vaccum is huge compared to him. Not only that but the oscars are the only fish that seem to be uneffected by the intrusion. It was such a wonderful experience that I thought I would share it with the wonderful, helpful people of this group.

yes, I agree. I love the way they stay so close to one another and do all the same things almost like they read each others mind as to what they are going to do next. I am so happy that I am able to have these little guys in my life, they have brought so much happiness to my life, not to mention so much work! lol

my oscar used to do the same thing... now if i dont pay close enough attention he bites me!! lol

imhoping to get mine to eat out of my hand but it probably take a while cuz they really dont want the worms i give them. they just want the pellets and nothing else...they are growing wonderfully just eating the pellets but im trying to get them to eat other things...

Your lucky if he takes the pellets, but I'm sure he won't refuse live worms in some time.
And then you say, I wish he still ate those pellets!
Mine is real tough during WC and will lay still in the front of the glass, just letting me do my thing.

my 2 babies (about 6" now) dont like water changes at all, they go to the back of the tank and sulk, laying on their sides more often then not..
