Apparently my Albino O got in a fight with my Tiger O and now has a ripped gill (not the whole thing just a cm long section). Is this serious or will it heal like everything else?

As long as the actual Gill filaments haven't been damaged, I suspect the Oscar will actually recover okay if your water is in good condition.

has it affected its breathing? if the breathing is OK and as normal it will heal quickly

It's breathing ok but yes the "pink-ish" part of the gill is torn also, not just the plate covering it

I think if the fish was in serious trouble it would be breathing heavily and showing signs of stress. Hopefully, it will just heal up naturally if your water is in good condition


The only thing I can suggest is keep an eye on it and hopefully everything will heal up

i believe it is just the gill cover plate..... and you need not worry much.
it will heal in no time
