I don't see how you can possibly over oxygenate an aquarium. Even if you put 10 air stones in your aquarium, your fish would come to no harm

really you can but with the equipment that is avail no you cant plus you have to remember that air stones and all air stuff we use does not work 100% its more like if the water takes the oxygen it does if not it goes to the top and the bubble pops lol only way to over oxygenate water is if you are like using liquid o2 but since that is no feesible you are fine. you could run 10 air stones 8 power heads and still be fine just go with ever look your going for is fine.
I have lost my mind be back when I find it, maybe.

but my fish have gotten used to them, if I ever turn them off, they all spook!
Must be the clear look at my face...

If you take out all the water there will be more oxygen and that will certainly over do it. )))))

On a serious note It depends if your tank is planted or not. If you have no plants a good circulation and flow will benefit the fish, assuming you have fish that like a flow. if your tank is heavily planted with a strong flow and surface movement the way in that plants take up carbon in the water can be changed, plants rely on carbon and CO2 to take up the carbon. surface movement and air stones remove CO2 so plants can't take up the carbon. in this case you will need to add CO2 to replace whats lost through movement. there is equipment on the market to provide this but its out my field really cos I don't have plants. I just can't grow them, love the look but fail. )

no way planted tanks are fun to keep i love mine only prob is that there is a lot of work with pruning and making sure the co2 is running and the light timer is most important as the type of light you run but ya def with my planted tank i run two small air stones just to use my undergravel other than that i would not need it lol.

if you want to over oxygenated the water, you need a close container. when i was still
a boy, i used to deliver live fish in hotels and restaurant. we need a cooler and a
plastic bag where to put the fishes, and water. inflate the plastic with oxygen and
deliver.... two to three hours drive give us no casualty.

but for open container, no way you can over oxygenate the water.... it will just
go in the air....
