i have been feeding my oscars hakari gold pellets and bloodworms once a week is this a good diet? if not can someone tell me a good one thanks heaps

It is ideal to vary the diet more than that. I assume that you have a small oscar? I would throw in some brine shrimp and maybe some cheap seafood or shrimp. I typically feed mine hikari gold, massivore delight(for larger oscars), shrimp, some sort of fish(salmon was on sale), earthworms, and the occasional treat of some venison.

As many as they will eat in 2-3 minutes. Then remove all uneaten foods.

no kidding aside, you can give your o hikari in the morning, bloodworm in the
evening....just observed the 2-3 minutes rule..the only consideration is the cost.
you can also give them grass shrimp if it is available in your area. a beef heart,
vegetable trimmings, fruits, crickets, and many more could be a treat.

thanks paul the guy where i got them from told me 2 feed them each 2 pellets every 2 days im not sure if that is right

my oscar used to eat the whole cube of the bloodworm at 5-7 inches

i didnt know mealworms can be refrigerated but how long

Not correct. Mine eat about 8 or 9 pellets each. And I fed everyday till they were adults. Now they eat a ton every other day!

One thing you will quickly learn is that your LFS is out to make money, most times they have no freaken idea what they are talking about!
