was just wondering whats the biggest oscar someone on here has owned? pics would be great thanks

I think the biggest mine has ever reached is around 11 inches. It is very deceptive looking at the fish in an aquarium which is why most people actually over estimate the size of their fish. Whereas someone may think they've got a 15 inch Oscar, the chances are it's at least 3 inches smaller than they actually think.

My big boy was measure a few weeks ago OUTSIDE of the tank. And he came in at a whopping 14in.

Beautiful Oscar Nickisue! How old is he?

I am guessing he is about 16 months or so. But I am not sure. I rescued him and his girlfriend from a guy here in town. Both Oscars 3 Large plecos, and 18 goldfish in a 35 gallon tank with one HOB filter.

And he was going to kill them because he wanted "Something different"

Hes a big old boy nicki. i had one that was 12" i have seen much larger aound 17" mark. most reach 9"-10"

my brothers oscar Oskie was 21 ans 1/4 in when she died i think she was 7 yrs 0ld when she died, from what we dont know

my previous oscar reached the 14 & 12 inches mark,,the female died last June 2009
due to indigestion, while the male jump of the tank last october 2009...
