Im keeping some guppies in my little oscars tank. They are ment to be his food for when he gets bigger and right now he is to small to eat them. As he grows up will he eat them or not bother them cause he is used to them?

It all depends on the oscar....he might, he might not. Some oscars seem to absoulutely adore guppies while others hate them. The reason for him eating them wouldn't be because he is used to them though, it would just be his personal preferance.

BTW, you might want to remove the guppies, feeder fish are kept in unsavory conditions before being sold and may carry diseases which could be transitted to your oscar if their not eaten soon.

My Friend,
If you have ever seen an adult oscar live peacefully with guppies, come on say goodbye to your feeder fish. An Oscar is one of the best frehwater fish to keep and guppies well unless you are into the msaller fish are just fancy feeder fish and your oscar is on top of the food cain. Do not expect your guppies to thrive but your oscar will.

I once added a fish to my tank that was bigger than my smallest fish (that had been bought up with the oscar). The oscar straight away ate the new fish but left the other alone. I removed the other fish (a blue acara) because i reckoned that sooner or later it would be eaten.

Your oscar will one eat the guppies. It just might take him a while as he is used to them. It will take him a bit longer to see them as food compared to if you had just added them
I can't get no sleep
