Hi,
I was doing a water change and i'm pretty shure I saw what looked like a very thin [about the length of a bloodworm and not much thicker than a hair]worm, it was white and seemed to be swimming through the water the way a snake wriggles along the ground.
I think I saw 2 or 3 and I sucked them out when removing water.
But if they are real then I guess there would be more, I would have taken a pic, but they are to small to focus on.
The water parameters are perfect, before the change aswell as after, does the description ring any bells? or was I seeing things that arent there?
thanks for any help.

that is normal...white or red small worms.... the become small insect like mosquitoes.
if you will notice, they can create a small dots of pendant shape gunk in gravel or
glass wall and hatch in few days. but the insect dies too in a day or two.

when i have my angel fish, she love to pick them....in my golf fish tank, the
grass shrimps feast on them.

So they arent capable of infecting the Oscar?
thanks.

They are called Plantera, They are from over feeding! They do not harm anything! Lessen the amount you are feeding and make sure to remove all uneaten foods and they will soon disappear.

I have had them several times in a couple of tanks. No big deal!

Could be that or maybe just planarea. If it is planaera, ensure there is not a lot of excess food left over after the fish are done feasting. If it's what Paul said then neither of these are a danger to the fish. Just unsightly. Hope this helps!

I could have sworn that between my Oscar and the 6 SD's that all the food got finished, guess I was wrong, I havn't seen them before, so I guess they'r hanging out in the gravel.
I'm just glad they don't pose a threat.
thanks for the reply's.

They live on small bits of food. Obviously given the size of the worms they will eat food that you cant see. Cut down on the feeding and/or do more gravels clean

plec will certainly eat them. If you maintain your tank well and dont overfeed you wont see them either
