Mine try to...but they spit them out. I think it's just the food competition instinct. Predatory fish...they're not really programmed to share, and as well they shouldn't, or they die in the wild.

You know how it is...something that resembles a consumable goes in the tank, all bets are off. It's a dominance thing too...hence why I have to separate my two O's when it's feeding time. The one will gobble up all the food even if she can't consume it just to deny it to the other. She also goes after food closer to the other Oscar even though there is food readily available right in front of her.

Of course...that could just be a woman thing.

Hmm... you ASSUME that fish is a woman huh? I have the same problem with mine. Piglet has outgrown Red because of this. Funny I consider Piglet the female too.. she hords the food and will sit with it in her mouth just so Red can't have it. Had TWO fat meal worms in her mouth this morning. One across her mouth made it look like a mustache - very cute but couldn't get the camera fast enough!

I tried one of those mealworms myself...they taste terrible. I don't see why they like them so much.

Feed your pleco after the lights have been off for about an hour, they are nocturnal so will hunt for food, hopefully the Oscar will not see the food with the lights turned out.

Hey Johnny, try frying them up, they taste a hell of a lot better
