Hey guys / ladies...

I've got some 8 Oscars now.. all between 3 to 4 inches.. but i'm so confused with the types.. every aquarist has some fancy name for them.. fire oscar? tiger oscar? its pretty confusing.. Is there anywhere that i check images and types of Oscar.. pardon me OFL if there is one right here.. I must be blind..

I would suggest that you post all the images into this thread and then we can do our best to help you. If you are not sure about hosting your photos, I would recommend photobucket

yes, black and grey are the base colours of the wild ones, but they tend to become a lil' dull coloured, compared to tigers and reds.
But they also can change colour temporarily when spooked or stressed.
They seem the become pale and their fins will allmost become see through.
But that is perfectly normal.

wow tony they look awesome.. ya i call them my babies too.. do you have names for them?

my red oscars are leonidas and gorgo (inspired from 300) ..my tigers are prometheus(my fav greek mythological character) and Kratos (from god of war, and the bully in the tank).. My red tiger is Ogami and the lutino is Daigoro (inspired from the manga book Lone Wolf and Cub) and finally the wild oscars are Baroness and Snake Shadow (My fav villains in the G.I Joe series)

all the best to you too mate.. cheers.

excellent shots, Tony!
This proves a pic can be better than a thousand words.
Or 2 pics actually, in this case.
Perfect example of colour changing behaviour!
