hello everybody
i got two lutino oscars four days back.they are 2"and their body and fins were same in colour.
today morning i noticed thier fins are slightly dameged and the edge of their fins are changing black in colour.is this a serious problem? what to do?

Have you tested your water? Ammonia, nitrite nitrate, & especially pH. If not, can you please do send him post the results. Also, a photograph would be helpful

Often lutino oscars will get a black edge to their fins, as long as the fin isnt actually damamged then its normal. Some lutinos get some black on their bodies too, its makes them look dirty. It depends on the quality of the breeding

if it looks something like the lutino in the flower pot, its normal

iam doing my water changes regularly.they are taking their food.
but they are hiding in the bottom of the tank.if i move away they are coming up.
i will try to post pic today.

even though fins that turn dark on the edges is common in the oscar trade not all suffer from this. imho the greyish fin colouration is due to poor breeding stock and these traits are passed down to the offspring.
there is nothing wrong with these fish they just have a less vibrant colour.

lol every morning i wake up... and ask myself that same question... altho to be honest, i had 9 convicts in that tank... aside from the batch of fry that number is more like 5 now. a few of the smaller convicts (there were several in the 1" range) got eated.

and if cris ever goes on vacation, im stealing his fish, those are amazing! (yes even the jd's too!)
