I wanted to buy plants for my aquarium and sure enough they would pull them out even if under big rocks and I would see them floating in the top but I found a plant that looks like long grass ill send a photo later that worked better then the others. I had a red leafed plant with maybe 200 leaves and the oscars would bite them off and spit them out so no luck. I also had a furry looking plant that is long but no real roots so they got pulled out easily and even got sucked into my filter causeing loss off water flow and killing my bacteria. The plants that worked the best still got pulled out so I took a suction cup that had a nub with a hole on it tied a piece of fishing line arount the plant and to the suction cup - Stuck the suction cup to the bottom of my tank and covered with gravel. It has been 2 days and they havent pulled it up! It works great because the plant doest have leaves that can be pulled off and it has a nice root base that is easily tied to. If you really want to try live plants this may work for you. Best of luck OFL's.

Cool, wonder if that grass like plant might be giant vallisneria by chance. I like those, they get really long leaves with time that float on the surface. I'd like to try them in the corner tank, but not convinced yet the Oscar wouldn't shorten it.

Good idea about the suction cups, thank you, hope it keeps working for you!
If I were a guy, I\'d have probably needed only 30% of the amount of words to say this

Well day 3 just got off work and its still down. I guess you could use bigger/smaller suction cups depending on the oscar. It may not be gauranteed only time will tell.

To get of the duckweed pull out as much as you can everyday, cut your lighting down to 4 hours a day and keep a eye on your nitrate levels(if they are above 40 increase your water changes and cut down on feeding(only feed what they will eat in 3 mins))
I can't get no sleep
