This morning marks the first day my little Oscar has eaten from my hand. He's let me pet him for the last week, and got close, but this morning it's official. My Oscar is hand fed!

He's only around 3 inches right now, but if a larger Oscar gets your hand too, does it do any damage??...no teeth right?

I will warn you, my O's have drawn blood!!! Oscars do have teeth, and you could be sorry!

Oscars have not got teeth like pirahna, but they have got very rough mouths that are quite capable of inflicting superficial injuries as you'll see by the following video

lol mine bit me and drew blood on my knuckle while cleaning the tank one day. then a week later it bit the exact same injury doing the same thing. now i got a wand and a long handled scrubber for the algae lol.

I handfed mine since he was a baby, but it happens that he mistakes my fingers for food.

It not the bite itself that hurt, it the grab and rip action Oscars do, when they become enthousiastic.

Although handfeeding my O smetimes hurts my fingers, handfeeding my Gar is far worse.
