Could be something could be nothing but thought it was best to ask advice anyway. I have been looking at my oscar called Asbo over the last few days and when he breathes as he come to the front of the tank for attention at the top of his top lip he seems to breath and there is a mucus there well kind of mucus, its not hugely packed but it seems like a covering and when hes breathing it tends to come out of his mouth a little, dare sat thats with the inhale exhale ect. Hang on off to look at at it again,

hmmmm i have had tropical fish before and to me it looks like a bit of fungus starting to build, i could be wrong but i am sure this was not there before. I have only had him a month and have noticed over the last few days he aint eating as good, found a shrimp and half muscle wasted at base of the tank and that was in the morning when he should be real hungry.
He wont wouch cockle now either.

Hope you can advise as kind of worried here, even on treatment ect i am in the uk so cant get any american remedies ect.

Firstly, don't leave shrimps or muscles in the tank, they will send your water funny.

What you mentioned about something coming out of the mouth when he breathed sounds similar to An Oscar that recently passed away here had that in his mouth.. I'm not suggesting this will happen to your Oscar.

When my Oscar breathed, it looked more like a small piece of skin. Fish do have a curtain of skin on the inside of their mouth. This could possibly get damaged which is what you see. To be quite honest, it is very difficult to see what your problem is, if it is a problem by your description. It would be a lot easier to see a photograph. I would suggest that you do some water tests. How old is your Oscar? Oscars do stop eating some time as for no reason. It seems to happen to a lot of people. It has certainly happen to me a lot. I really do think Oscars have problems if they are not look after properly from a very young age. If the fish is not feeling 100%, it will stop eating, just like us. Just keep an eye on the fish and monitor its feeding. I would suggest that you try a feeding good quality pellets for a while and stop feeding shrimps and shell fish. Just until the you know what is going on. Sorry I can't be much more help, it really is not easy diagnosing problems from just descriptions. Anyway, fish are notoriously difficult to diagnose. They often show symptoms that just appear in any fish health books.

Hi there, what i was meaning about muscle in the tank was that its normally just a little left over edge of waste once he has finished and you cant always spot that, my plecos tend to eat it. I am finding it hard to get a picture that shows this issue. Unsure what to do, will stop his fresh foods, any idea for how long?

i think my oscar is starting 2 get hole in the head diease , he has these white shots on his head and i dunt know wot they are !
is there a treatment for this and if soo
wot treatment could i possable use

It might be best if you start your own thread regarding this issue. A photograph would be helpful, having said that, from what you have described, it is certainly a possibility that your Oscar has hole in the head. Difficult to say without a photograph. Like I said, start your own thread and we can carry on there
