I had to share this with you guys. Tonight, I put an algae pellet (large) into my aquarium for my pleco.
One of my Os decided he wanted to play with it instead and *try* to eat it, but it is too large for his mouth... After 30 minutes, he is still playing basketball/soccer with it, trying to figure out how to fit it in his mouth
Oscars have often got eyes bigger than their bellies, my 4 inch blue aCara will often grab frozen Lance fish that he has absolutely no chance of swallowing in one go, will he let go of them, no way, nobody is getting hold of them, he manages to eat them in the end. I know it seems like playing, but the Oscar is in fact only looking upon this as food.
I may not always be right, but I am always the boss
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved

actually that oscar is not playing...it is trying to break the pellet for
its belly.... if the pellets will slide in in its mouth, you will be rattle
whether to remove it or not...seeing an oscar not able to close its mouth
is disturbing too.... although it is just fine....
funny!
mine did the same when he was small with the Hikare algae wafers.
Nowadays he can swallow any size of pellet, but he won't anymore.
Just live food.
My SD's play tag team football with the algaewafers nowadays, and they're good at it.
