I've had this happen to my Oscars on more than one occasion and the wounds have always healed up okay, I reckon that you'll have a pretty decent scar though

I may not always be right, but I am always the boss

Hey Tony, i believe it is an injury wound, not HITH. i tried to simulate
all your rock decors and there a cave where if the oscar try to get in,
the top of the opening will hit the spot of the injury....better check it out.

Ouch, these fish are clumsy arent they. That is pretty gnarly though. On the topic of HITH you shoulda seen some of the oscars at petsmart. prolly about 2 inches big. Looked like someone stabbed their heads with tooth picks. I'll have to take a pick and show. anyways hope that wound heals up, it should for sure!

My O bashed his head against the glass ledge on the inside of my tank.
I friend of mine saw my handfeed my Oscar and wondered what would happen if he put his fingers in the tank.
Well, my O attacked him, but hurt his head doing so.
My friend felt bad...but my O healed fine with no scar at all.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

Seems we all have these stories to tell. I accidentally broke the cover glass on a tank a few years ago. The glass fell into the tank and gashed my oscars side but not deeply, ther was a flap of skin though. The gash healed up quite nicely and didnt take too long either
