hi, there.
That's not how it's supposed to be...
We need some waterparameters, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH to pinpoint the problem.
How big is your tank and what kind of filters do you use?
Plus what's their flowrate?
Please answer these questions, so we can help you out.

what do you feed it? how big is your tank? what type of filtration do you have in the tank? what are your water parameters? do you use a test kit? can you post results of a water test using a liquid test kit? and do you have any pictures you can post for us? ty.

i have a 15 gallon tank. I'll probably buy a 75 gallon tank if he gets bigger..

i change water whenever the tank is dirty.

i feed him this kind of food i forgot what it's called

this is him

oh and he used to be with another fish called a convict, but i moved him to another container since the convict was harassing him.

i bought them almost the same time with my convict, and i noticed the convict grew a little.

Sorry to tell you but he doesn't need a bigger tank IF he gets bigger...he needs a bigger tank NOW. Being in a smaller tank means there is probably a water quality issue and could also be stunting his growth. He will need a larger tank ASAP!

I agree he's probably getting quite cramped in such a small tank.
He would probably pick upon his growth rate if he was placed in a larger tank.
With proper water parameters of course

never did mention what kind of filtration was involved, or the water parameters. we still need that information

Re:My Oscar isn't growing 2 years, 4 months ago #72568

I'm pretty sure that in a 15 gallon the fish has released plenty of a hormone that stops his growth or slows it down for self preservation, plus if you only change the water when it gets "dirty" I think thats even worse for him, please read in the forum and start educating yourself on how to take care of it, thanks.
