I've never heardof them passing on any diseases to fish.
I do know you need to wash them before you give them to your fish.

Oscars love earthworms (nightcrawlers in the USA), I feed them to my fish when I can get them. The only thing to watch out for is pesticides. If you are buying them you should be ok but I would check as most worms are sold as fishing bait. If your collecting them yourself only get them from places you know there are no pesticides used (like your own garden)
I can't get no sleep

Earth worms are one of the safest food for your fish. Earth worms will not inhabit soil with chemicals or any other harmful substances. They also do not carry any inter-special transmittable diseases

Wild fish eat grubs. They should be okay as long as they haen't been exposed to pestisides.

earthworms are very sensitive creatures...and easy to die...thus, feeding them
alive means they are healthy. same is true with grubs
