ive seen from a lot of sites that oscar patterns and colours are quite unique from one fish to another. i hav observed that my baby tiger has some orange lines/stripes(watever u call them) all over the lower part of the body. it wont spread further up beyond that curved line above the pectoral fins(i dont know wat u call it).
and it has a whitish stripes in the background(like most oscars do)..

my question is.. will the orange pattern spread further by age? will the whitish background colour disappear by age? will the orange and black pattern changes it's intensity by age provided that stress level is constant..?

thanks

heheh! we dont really hav odd/special oscar types here in malaysia. u will not even find a VT type anywhere in the LFS. actually i did asked one of the most popular fish importer here for a VT oscar, he just went blank on me.. hehe!
here its home of the nuisance flowerhorns.. not the oscars. and those flowerhorn pests screwed up our rivers so much.. there goes our ecosystem.

most tigers these days tend to look a little different as juvies but as they grow they get their usual colors.

I did and the owner of the last fish has had him for allmost a year now.
The thread labeled it Astronotus Rubrocellatis.
Discussions on other sites were asking for updated pics to see what the O would look like now, but strangely enough there never came any new Pics...
The general idea was that the fish would actually turn into a nice, but not so incredible fish.
But updates have still not come.
