Hey guys and girls.

I've recently got back from holidays and after about three months planning, i finally set up my 4x1.5x2 foot 90 gallon tank. A trip home for the holidays allowed me to custom build my tank with my dad and enabled me to visit many of the pet stores in Brisbane (Queensland Australia) in search of the perfect tank decore.
Heres a few photos:







I had my fluval 405 on my 30gal oscar tank for about 5 weeks before i set up the 90gal so i was hoping it was cycled and ready for the new tank. The transfer went fairly smoothly, but was a bit difficult because the new tank was going where the old tank was... It was a logistical nightmare but we made it through after several hours!!
I released Agro into the new tank a few hours later, confident that the fluval was cycled, and he hasn't looked back. A bit sulky at first from being caught and moved around, but he loves it now, and has visually grown since he's been in there. Its time for the first water change... not a simple job anymore... lol
I'm a bit disappointed how the photos turned out with the flash on, they really dont do the tank justice...

thats a nice looking fish you got how old is he/she and how many foot is that tank??

Sorry i meant to say 90 gallon oscar tank!
Jed the fish is about 6 months old, about 5 and a half inches. The tank is 4 feet long, 1 1/2 feet wide, and 2 feet deep.

nice tank and fish re your water changes see below

Had the same problem as you, had two large tanks against a wall and very soon realised the one for our 2 oscars wasn't really big enough, so bought a new 150 gallon,
AND it needed to go where the current one was, so like you had to place the new one close and transfer water etc to new one, half way moved the fish, then emptied old tank,
moved old out, and then from new tank moved everything back to old tank, and then moved the new one into place, and finally all back from old tank to new one, moving the 2 oscars 3 times was fun and games and plenty of splashing all over new wall paper lol, ,the water wasnt to big a problem as i used a pond pump to move water from one tank to another, and less stress than pouring water on top of them, i now use the pump when doing water changes, straight from plastic dustbin to tank, i use another bin with a gravel cleaner to extract dirty water to,
i think the easier you make water changes the more likely you are to do them, otherwise if it becomes a chore you may leave it longer than you really should

Yes you're spot on thats exactly how i swapped tanks. Right now i love water changes as i find it really fun and i love having a great clean tank for my O. I wish i had room for a 150gallon you and your lucky oscars!!!

looking at the gap you have your tank in Dan i reckon a 150 gallon may fit there,
mine is also deeper than normal (back to front) so wasn't to much longer than the tank i replaced, but your tank is ideal for your fish and looks really nice

that is an amazing oscar... i am sure there are plenty of pictures coming
