Hi Penn and everyone ...
I wrote a few weeks back with a big worry about my big boy oscar not eating for several weeks (4+)
I came very close to putting him down. I was very relictant to do this because in all other ways, he acted normal. It especially concerned me because I was going to leave for a 3 week trip and did not feel my husband (as wonderful as he is) was up to dealing with making the decision should Huey take a sudden turn for the worse. I was also certain he would NOT know how to actually perform the deed should it need doing.
Anyway, Heuy was coaxed to eating a worm or two before I left...and I held on to hope.
Now I am back home and my husband reports that Huey has returned to his old gluttonous self!
I am taking Penn's advice and cutting back on his food. He will only be fed a few times a week. It sure warms my heart though, to see him with his appetite back.
Thank you Penn!!! I very much appreciate your advice and words of encouragement. Keep up the good work.

That is very good news. I bet you're absolutely delighted?

I would carry on feeding sparingly. One thing that most people don't realise is adult Oscars don't need to eat much. If you feed every other day, they are much more likely to accept food than if you try and give them too much.

Keep us up to date on Huey

I may not always be right, but I am always the boss
