well i have the green terror
and two oscars
some of you may remember me adding the green terror to my tank a while back for its agression to put my oscar in check.
and some of you said i may have to rehome the green terror because it will be to agressive.
and you were right about one thing that i might have to rehome the green terror!!!
but no for the reason you may think
im doing a water change as we speak and i noticed that green terror has scales missing from the forhead area and fins are split BEAT UP
my big oscar is King i guess and really wants to show it
just thought id share with you guys give you an update of sorts

the 1st thing about tankmates when it comes to aggressive fishes is- size matters.
big fish>small fish. but in some minority cases, the small fish will just be more aggressive and bcom the bully.
some fishes like betta splendens, the colour determines the aggressiveness to a certain distinctive level. for example, red bettas are generally more aggressive than other colours. im not sure about ascars though..
most probably its just the personality. some ppl love aggressive fishes.. it shows good deportment.

oscars can be mad tank in cases!
its like putting two bulldogs together, there gunna want to show whos boss and the bigger one usualy wins in most cases the oscar is the biggest one
although i would hate to see fish fight, my oscar would kick your oscars ass!

if u still wanna keep them together in one tank, u hav to get a bigger tank and put lots of props for hiding. but rehoming as u did would definitely solve ur case. its better to be in a solitary cell rather than in the common prison where u know big boss is looking forward to kicking ur arse.. heheh!

another thing to remember though.. if u take the mean oscar out, either the GT or the other oscar might rise to dominance and bully the other. both of them might hav already learnt to be aggressive and competitive like the mean oscar. to make things worse, if one of them do bcom aggressive, it would mean all the beating will go to the last fish. at least now theres 2 of them sharing the beating(i think).

Green terrors get more aggressive as they get bigger, if your is small it can be bullied easily especially by an aggressive bigger oscar
I can't get no sleep

i agree its a shame but these things happen, best off re-homing before things get worse

the fuller they are the less attention is givin to the green terror

I have a smaller GT and an Oscar. From what I have observed in my friend's tanks, power usually shifts..sometimes the bigger one is alpha and other times the one getting bullied all the time will shift the chain. Wolves do this as well. The Omega could very well be an Alpha in a year or so.

I have observed the GT to be bullied by an inch larger Oscar. His fin is healing fast, I actually added a few Tbsp of aquarium salt and noticed a change within a few days in healing.(others may be against aquarium salt). For me it has been effective in killing Ich with temps raised as well.

I have also recently observed the GT to hold it's ground. It has been bullied but will flare up and attack back. I have a 75 gallon tank with just a GT and an Oscar. These will be the only fish in the tank.
