found on another local fourm a discussion bout how to sex oscars, now i thought this was impossable uinless you see and oscar lay eggs or they are sighted throught the mouth???? but found this thing a dude was sayn about "venting" i have cut and paste this in from the other site letme know what you think.

Venting is when you look underneath an oscar and near its bum will be 2 holes. One is the anus and the other is to do with the sex organs. The anus on male and females are the same size but the sex organ hole is a different size depending on the sex. Some people swear by it and some say its not exact. Some say the only way to tell for sure is to wait until you get a pair that lay eggs that get fertalized. I have never bothered with venting as i have never really been worried about breeding. Others that have opinions will chime in with their views on venting!

the problem with Venting, is that you can damage or hurt the Oscar, and even hen, if you don't know what your looking at or looking for you will not know.

If you choose to do this, do it with GREAT caution..

basically that what i was told and perhaps i pick the information in reverse...
because what is in my mind is that if the vent or round mark is the same size of the
anus, it is male, and if the vent mark is bigger than the anus, it is a female....

first iv heard of venting to be honest, leave sexing to the experts

yeah i know i have 2 MALES, was just having a chat on a local forum about how to tell what sex he had and he said he vented his oscars and knew he had a pair but none had layed eggs yet, was just asking if anyone knew what it was cuz i didnt.
