injury usually occur in one particular fin only while fin rot is a
uniform white edges of all fins....and most common is that the rib
become protruding to the membrane of the fins

have you tested your water? fin rot is a problem associated to poor water conditions and cold tempertures. 1st point of call would be a water test. the burn could be from the heater? what temp is your tank set at?

Water test results would be the best help right now...can you post you ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH for us?

Thinking about your water will not help...
Test it, please.

Bad quality water is the cause of most problems with Oscar's health.
That's why we are persistent in asking for water test results.
Those results will be the only thing that will help us give conclusive advice.
Or else it'll stay a guessing game.
And pics of course would help a lot.

i tried to take pics but its a lutino so i cant get a good pic that u can tell whats really going on. but in the fin thats hurt there's like white knots right at the base of the ribs on all of them. maybe they're broke? and they dont look to be as strong right in that area as it should be. ill try some pics again..

I don't mean any disrespect to ANYONE on this site... but how can you own a tank and not have a test kit? Hopefully they are not being purchased based on the advice of LFS !!! I learned from day one of posting on this site... a test kit is the window to any problem. Please, whomever you are, BUY A DECENT TEST KIT !! Ammonia, PH, Nitrites and Nitrates are the basic test kits needed to monitor your tank.

All you moderators and "senior" posters..... correct me if I'm wrong!
