i feed bud twice a day i have hakari
gold mini peelets i only have them
because the guy at my LFS said it was
cheaper to get the bigger packet then
the small but have had it now for 2
months and doesnt seem to go down
LOL he will eat about 30-40 of them
then i stop but he still wants more
and at night he eats about 15-25 mealworms
is this because im only feeding twice
a day or will they just eat non stop
and should i but bigger pellets and
if so what ones medium or large???

How long are you feeding for? I read here that you should feed them what they can eat in roughly a 3 minute time period...mine are the same way...I think they would eat til they popped if I let them! haha!

As for size just make sure your O can crush the pellets ok if you go up a size.

im only feeding for about 2 1/2 mins LOL

juvenile eats to death as the saying goes... look at this;

my juvenile OneEyeJack....see those scrape on his side, he used to hit the filter
on that side since he only has eye on the right side
and this is glutton that eats until he is pooing

so its normal n health 2 feed him that much and what about the size do you think i should go up

Oscar are always hungry and will eat all day long if you fed them. The reason we limit how much we feed them is because if we dont limit how much food they have the nitrates will soar and we would either end up doing loads more water changes or we would end up will poor water quality and then sick fish. One feed what they wil eat in 2 or 3 mins twice a day if they are less than 3-4 inches, once a day if bigger than that

As your fish is eating for 2.5 mins then you are doing fine
