Hai guys, my name is Etsart and I'm oscar fan. right now i still don't know why my lovely oscar has bloody feces. i feed him with squid and shrimp(the one we use to eat), feed him with azoo vitamin, and sometimes i give him vitamin c. well my oscar seem doesn't want to eat any kind of pellet so i pet him that way. i think maybe there is not enough fiber on his diet. but i just a beginner so can you experts help me? and one more thing is there any connection between small size aquarium with this disease, i put my 24 cm oscar it may 50 liter tank?. thank you

This is not something I have ever come across and there doesn't appear to be anything in any of my health books that relates to blood in a fish's poo.

I would be inclined to change the diet if you can and if the fish will accept a different kind of food. You could also try ceased feeding for a couple of days and see if this makes any difference. See if your fish will eat vegetables, maybe some peas, or chunks of cucumber maybe. You could also try some blood worm, Oscars often like this. That is about all the advice I can give since I really have no idea why this is happening. If indeed the fish has got some kind of intestinal disorder that my very much doubt there will be much you can do.

are you serious about this????24 cm O in a 50 liter tank?????

on the bloody pooh....are you sure on this either??? shrimp for one will give you
a red big oscar poos, sometimes as if with shell but when you touch it, it will
breakdown and dissolve.

how long have you had your o???? you need a 55 gal tank for your o!

What dimensions does the tank have?
Are you sure it's only 50 Liter?
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

Sorry, must have been asleep, I didn't pick up on the tank size, 50 L? That is around 12 gallons. Please confirm whether this is the case?

First of all i hope you meant 50g and not 50 litres. An oscar needs at least 50g to be able to keep the water of a quality good enough to keep it healthy. If you have a 50litre tank then rehome it ASAP. If you have a 50 litre tank your water quality will be very very poor and your oscar WILL have health problem leading to death!!!!!

As for blood in the faeces, are you sure its blood. An oscars poo colour will depend on what it has eaten. My fish poo red when eating hikari cichlid gold (red pellets) but they poo a white colour after eating maggots
I can't get no sleep
