Hi All

One of my oscars has decided to batter him self at night on maybe one of the rocks in the tank ,One night he put a mark on the side of him and now there is one on his head and looks like loose skin hanging off his head. Tested my water and its fine apart from ph being 7.6 .Shall i put in some fin rot treatment to help the damage or leave it as the first mark on his side has nearly healed up within 3 days

Thanks Tom

I wouldn't treat with anything. As long as your water is where it is supposed to be, it will heal in no time.

And your PH is fine, the same as mine. as long as it is stable, that PH is good.

I am not sure why you would want to put in a fin rot treatment anyway, that is to treat bacterial conditions. Okay, I would say let nature take its course, no need for any treatment, if your water is in good condition everything should heal up without the need for any added treatment.

As long as your water is good the wounds should heal quickly. Just to be sure can you post the actual results of the tests please

Keep them in the tank for sure...the first water change I did I put my 2 O's in tupperware and brought them in the shower and I really feel like it did more harm than good.
