I have a tank containing an Albino Oscar, a Tiger Oscar and a Braziliensis. The tank is 4 ft long x 1-1/2 ft wide x 2 ft high. I feed them mostly blood worms and pellets. I have had these 3 for about 6-8 months and the tiger has probably tripled in size from 2 inches to around 6 inches. The braziliensis has probably doubled from 2" to 4", but the lil Albino hasnt grown at all! Its so bizarre cos he eats just as much as the others and doesnt show any visible signs of a sickness or abonormality. He gets along well with the tiger who is the alpha-fish and isnt harrassed by the braziliensis who is reasonably placid. I have NEVER heard of an oscar failing to grow??? Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, firstly the bad news, your tank is not big enough for two Oscars, you will need at least 100 gallons for two Oscars. However, since your fish are still fairly small I think you're okay for the time being.

Now you're going to need to test your water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrates and pH. It isn't uncommon for fish not to grow very quickly, even not growing much at all. As for why your fish is not growing at all, that is something I really don't know and cannot answer. It is definitely an Oscar? I know this sounds like a stupid question, some people have often mistaken other fish for Oscars, some fish take a long time to grow.

yeah i really want an 8 footer. wife wont allow it. one day... but it definately is an oscar. i will get some pics up soon. ph is generally around 6-8 . as for the other tests, i will hafta find out. ty for comments.

Your tank is 75gallons which is enough for 2 oscar full size but only with a lot of tank maintanance. Can you post a pic of the fish and post the test results for Ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate

Sometimes some fish just dont grow. Is the fish eating well and what is its poo like- is it stringy

he eats real well, is very active and havent seen any abnormal poo from the guy.i go get some pics now.
