Nothing seems to bother him. He doesn't sulk or act different no matter what changes around him, or in his tank. I just re-decorated it, and he didn't sulk for one second, he just continued on as if nothing happened... eating as soon as I was done. He hasn't even destroyed/moved anything I added.

I am not complaining, don't get me wrong. It's just that I know most O's are known for their hissy-fits, and my guy is cool as can be, and always has been.

Anyone else have an Oscar like this?
If you wait for things to happen, they never will.

My Oscars are not particularly happy with long drawnout tank maintenance, they just sits on the bottom of the tank looking completely pissed off which is quite funny because I know there is nothing wrong with them.
I may not always be right, but I am always the boss
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved

I think mien are ood too they just swim around calmly unless somone walks by the tank then they follow them across like tards. I never see them attacking anything and the dont move anything around. I havnt even seen them mess around in the gravel.

here's my baby o at his first day.

You see him chasing the sd's and he was never shy.
Ate out of my hand within a month.
Only sulking during wc when he was smaller.
Nowadays i have to watch him, for hr attack my hand and the syphon duringwc,
Comes to beg for food and eat even if the tank is only half filled.
good home will give you an happy and interacting O.
at 40-45 sec in the vid you see the chine algae eater thet would be eaten by my O some time later.

mine dont sulk all that often but after a big tank re-dec they take to sitting on the bottom and staring at me like iv farted.

never really mess with the tank unless there moving stones off the bottom to expose the glass......or if i put a real plant it...probz lasts 2 mins

When doing tank maintenance mine will sit at the bottom corner and look at me like I've just pissed in his cichlid-flakes. Then as soon as I'm done, he pops back up and does his little "feed me" dance like the starving glutton he is. The only time I've ever seen him really sulk, was when I transferred him from the 135 to the 55. He was super pissed about that. (Can't say as I blame him though...)
If ignorance is bliss, why aren't more people happy?

I think mine is becoming more adult since he isn't impressed with the maintanance anymore.
It started some weeks ago when he was checking everything i did out.
Until i finished and just wanted to move some stones.
That's when first had a go at my hand, like he was saying; "sure i like the fresh water, but don't you touch my rocks!"
I love that attitude.
Reminds me of the time i was doing wc and i petted my Oscar and he let me.
I thought that was sweet.
But one minute later he swam round the tank, comes back to my hand and BIT MT HARD!
As if to say; "That stuff may work on YOUTUBE but don't you get any funny ideas!"
