Hi everyone i havent been on here in forever heres a update. Well back in Thanksgiving was a bad day i lost both my oscars due to the fact as u all shall know i have a Dovii Idk what happend but saw one of my 10 inch oscars completly chewed up and the other on its way to its death bed. The Dovii and oscars got along great in the 250 US Gallon tank untill that day. I was upset but yet it was my fault for even buying a Dovii. The Dovii at this time is about 12 inches and was around 10 inches at the time. Im looking into getting a new oscar but putting it in my 120 US Gallon i just bought

Sorry about your loss, Dovi are bad news.
I read a story ones about some guys wanting to pull a prank on a friend of theirs who had a Dovi.
The took a pet alligator and threw that in the Dovi tank to have him eat the dovi.
Well, with friends like that who needs enemies?

Anyways, they put the gator in the tank, but...the Dovi didn't aggree with a crocodilian in his tank.
He attacked the gator hard , biting at him and kept pulling him underwater, doing severe damage and bitin off the tail of the gator.
When the Dovi owner got home his friends were standing there with the bleeding gator in a bucket, totally stunned at the Dovi's behaviour.
Quite some character those fish.
Mind you there was quite some sixe dif between the two.

Sorry about your o's. I had a red devil that destroyed my whole tank of other fish overnight. I felt sick when I found them, and still feel terrible.

Fish can be horrible sometimes.
If you wait for things to happen, they never will.

yea i heard that two before lol i beleave from you. But as we speak i have a Gold Piranha (8 inches) in there with the Dovii and a Red Devil (10 inches) The Red Devil wont back down at all so it puts the Dovii in check lol All 3 of them stay away from each other and i have to still feed them 2 times a day 8 large gold fish and pellets to keep them happy.

Feeding them goldfish can cause problems, if that's their regular diet.
Goldfish are rich of Thiaminase.
Here's an article about that, that explain it more clearly.

sorry to hear about your oscars dalton. but you were warned. and as fro the piranha and devil wait until the dovii reaches the 18+ inch mark and both of them will more than likely meet the same fate as your o's did.
good luck with your new o and be sure to post pics of him...and updated pics of your dovii.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!
