Feeders hold little nutritional value for an Oscar so I would personally say one is too many. If you want to give them live feed, why don't you try crickets, earthworms, these hold a lot more goodness. However, you would be advised to try and get them onto good-quality pellets if possible. Try not feeding them for about three or four days and then introduce two or three pellets and see what happens.

i agree, i believe that an oscar's nutritional value for its food should be varied and healthy for the oscar. maybe if you did that every other week it would be better.
i feed my oscar pellets,feeders,crickets,bloodworms,pineapple:), and just recently a pleco!

BUT IT SEEMS THAT THE FISH REALLY ENJOY T5HE FEEDERS... THE FISH DO EAT OTHER THINGS LIKE BLOODWORMS AND PELLETS, AND OTHER RANDOM SHIT THAT I THINK THEY LIKE... BUT ONLY WHEN I CANT GIVE THEM A TOY AND FEED THEM AT THE SAME TIME...

i never give my oscars feeders, but i know people who give them to their fish every so often purley as a enrichment kind of thing...i personally dont see point when you wiegh up the fact they do nothing/ very little for the fish nutritionally.

ive some research and i see what yall are saying, theres alot of info out there saying that all feeders do is make your fish fat and die of liver disease... i also read that crickets arnt good either, but my decision to use feeders stands but im gonna start mixing things up... more Doritos and pancakes, i wonder if they will like bacon..

liek ya said in a dif post tho, its a kinda husbandry enrichment type thing giving them feeders every so often, iv nvr done it, but i know ppl who do it purley for that reason to replicate their natural wild enviroment

fish in captivity do need varied foods to balance their diet... yes, they gonna
survive with feeders but won't live longer than those that are properly feed.
in one of my experimental backyard food production project, fishes being feed with
variety grows faster and taste better than those that are being feed with feeders
alone.

but to answer your question, there is no too much feeders in the tank for your
fish. they will eat till they are full and will ignore the rest for the meantime.
i can not deny that my wife used to dump a 10 pesos worth of guppies good for a week
for her aro who happen to be with my oscars....
