Looks like a dominance struggle Just keep an eye on them so they dont inflict any major injurys to each other....my green terror broke my jack dempseys jaw (years ago) in a dominance fight, after that the Jack wouldnt even come out to eat!

they seem to be pretty friendly most of the time, even at feeding time. i suspect the lutino lituno? which is it? gets a bit bold and has a go for it hehe must admit, the tiger does get a little more food then the other one, lituno lutino?

Looks like they are sorting out a pecking order, you might get a few minor injuries.
I can't get no sleep

Mine do the same thing - just posted a video about it too. 99% of the time they are swimming around like they are attached at the fin. They swim in harmony together! Then there is that 1% of the time when Piglet needs to put Red in his place... re-establishing his order in the peck!!! Luckily they heal quickly!!

my red o does the exact same thing to my lutino. They about 3.5 inches. It may be a dominance thing because i too think they a little to young to be doing the mating ritual. How big is your tank?
I have no idea why the water bill is so high

This is call lip locking is it? Mine did that too and I love watching them doing it... However, after that I found some cuts on the upper mouth area from both fishes though... After that I put some sea salt into the water to kill of the bacteria incase they got any infection... Is this a right move? Or a bad bad move? (I mean the adding of sea salt action.)

aquarium salt can be good for treating disease and injury. How much did you add and what kind? It was non iodized correct?

but for the most part, keeping your watter pristine will help heal inuries fast as well, as oscars can be quite clumsy and fight often, so this wont be the last injury you see! Salt is not always needed but I would for major injusries, or deep wounds.
Last Edit: 2 years, 3 months ago by mylutino.

its 3ft x 18" x 12". roughly 33 gallons i think. savin up for a bigger tank already

had my fish 6 weeks on friday, the tiger has grown about an inch in length bringing it to about 3" but has also got fatter lol and deeper, lutino is longer at about 3.5" maybe 3.75" but skinny lol. tiger is the boss i think, he's got the power and force

just a tea spoon, sometimes 2... ya its non iodized... i prefer salt cos i dont want to pollute the water with the yellow powder medicine which turns my water into yellowish...

if you dont have a pleco, use 1 tbls per every 5 gallons, if yo do have some other scaless fish that sensitive to salt, use 1 tbls per every 5 gallons.

It wont evaporate, so only add back what water you take out for changes, if you even need to keep it salted. A teaspoon wont do anyting in a big tank.

Kosher salt is good, or the aquarium salt from the LFS, but as long as its rock salt and noniodized.

Be sure to break it up in a bucket or cup first so you dont add clumps to the tank cause that stuff is hard to dissolve!
