I have heard you guys talk about the tiny white worms that are harmless to my fish. How can I get rid of them and/or even better prevent them? They are getting a little worse over the last week.

They are probably what we call Planerian which as you quite rightly state are harmless, although unsightly. They thrive if you overfeed especially. Try reducing the amount of food you put in the tank for a couple of weeks, make sure that all the food is eaten and there is nothing left for them, hopefully that will help reduce their numbers. You can also harvest them manually. Getting rid of them completely would probably mean stripping the whole tank down. Give my suggestion a try and see how you get on

I've never encountered worms like this - where do they come from? do they come from new fish or plants introduced into the tank?
