my oscar sits at the bottom of the tank wen i turn the light on and wen it is off hes moves around lil bit i cleaned tank today and added one more filter to his tank.

nitrite is 0

how long have you got it? it is normal for a new oscar.
but sometimes, oscar do react with the new things introduce
inside the tank too.

tank has been up for 2 mouths i have two aqua clear 70s filters they are rated for 300 gph each. its red oscar hes about 3 to 4 inches long had him for about 3 months and yes i clean the filters every week and vac about 30% of the water out tank is 55g only one oscar in tank

You shouldnt need to clean your filters every week, i clean mine every 2 months or so

It sounds to me like your oscar hasnt got used to the light being on. How long do you have the lights on for. Do you have a lot of decor. You could try having the tank sparsly decorated until he gets used to the having them on. Also only feed him when the light is on

tank has nothing in it just rocks on the bottom of tank should i put some plants in there and the lights was on for 8 to 12 hrs before 2 days ago now i turn them on at night only

I think that you may be upsetting the bacteria slightly by cleaning every week. If you clean too much then you will possibly remove some of the beneficial bacteria. If this happens, you won't have enough to keep up with the ammonia being produced which is why you are now reading the ammonia when you do a test.

Have you tested your pH from your tap? 8.0 is by no means dangerous for Oscars, however with a pH at this level you just can't afford to have ammonia present in the water.
