during juvenile period, 2 times a day, and follow the 2 minutes rules.
when fully grown, once a day with same policy 2 minutes rules.

try to scatter the foods in two location wherein the dominant one would not
push the less active... unless it has some health issue, oscar would never
starve themselves to death. just make sure the water is in perfect condition.

I feed mine twice - three times a day. Small amounts.

If I'm home all day I will tend to just let him graze. Few pellets or predator sticks every couple of hours. Throw in a shrimp here and there. When I'm working its a bit dif - quick bite in the morning if he takes (Its still pretty dark when I leave). Good feed in the after noon (few minutes) and a snack or two at night.

From time to time he'll drop off his food then all I do is barely feed him for a day and he is straight back to his usually "PLEASE FEED ME I HAVENT EATEN IN TWO WEEKS !!!! WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN !!!! PLEASE FREAKIN FEEEEEED ME !!!!" behavior as soon as he sees me lol.

actually, the two minutes rule still applicable to fully grown oscars.
they eat fast and stop when full.... they remains not interested in foods
until the next day......

Im lucky I dont have a "pig" I guess - Mine will literally snub food as soon as its full. Processes it really quickly though.

I prefer small regular feeds, fresh shrimp, good pellets, little veg here and there, once in a while some feeders to remind him his a wild breed - much more natural and is how they would eat in the wild generally speaking (grazing). Then again, there are O's that are just straight out pigs as well lol.

They way I figure - as long as I dont feed him too much that it becomes dangerous (physically and bio-load on the tank) then he deserves to be treated in return for being caged.

Yeah mine make pigs look refined. It sounds like your feeding them well and diversly. Remeber the more you feed them the faster they will grow, just watch your water levels.
